How do we do this? And what are the other benefits?
The most critical element is that Sarah Jane Furniture Furniture has an equal value ownership between the factory and conversely the factory in us. We are dependent on each other to continue our success it means we miss out 2 parts of the typical supply chain removing the added profit margin necessary for businesses to run. So no wholesaler margin added before selling to the retailer, and no margin added by the retailer.
It is simply, Factory -- Consumer
Other Benefits.
Many web retailers quote efficiencies passed on to the consumer such as –
Non traditional lower cost premises off the high street.
Lower staffing costs
Warehouse only overheads
Many do not stock and simply collect from wholesaler or
have an order delivered once an order has been recieved,
This helps cashflow removes warehouse and finance costs.
We have a warehouse and showroom but do not take payment
until final delivery is confirmed an important difference.
The above benefits also apply to Sarah Jane Furniture though we have a business model that far exceeds these benefits alone.
Now the above efficiencies are often true and in addition many web retailers do not stock any more than there showroom stock if they have one. This has an additional benefit in so much as it means web retailers operate with much lower capital as money costs money its an additional saving. Piggy backing off the wholesalers investment in stock is so much easier. Not a reason that will be advertised but it is there none the less, we do not subscribe to this and neither can we or do we want to.
Other advantages.
Our factory is UK owned and our partner is a time served upholsterer finisher and cabinet maker apprentice with a family background in antiques and furniture. This means a whole different skill set exists in the factory unlike any other in the region. As it is a privately UK owned factory with superior skill set's we can have unique and original designs and finishes. This will be immediately obvious as you browse our site by comparison to others.
