Delivery Information
Our schedule starts upon orders with 20% payment recieved, should we fail to deliver for what ever reason your 20% deposit is fully refundable.
We offer a no quibble 7 day money back guarantee with the exception only to the nature of the characteristics of hand made natural timber furniture which should be part of the reason for your purchase in the first place. All goods should be returned in there original packaging unused and without damage of any kind, we refund upon receipt of goods.
All items are checked in our factory and again in our warehouse before despatch for any damage.
It is your responsibility to ensure a responsible adult signs and checks the furniture and rejects delivery if fault is found, if this occurs at this time only you will not be charged additional courier costs.
All deliveries we aim to complete within 10 working days from cleared full payment and often achieve sooner once your furniture has been recieved by us from our factory. Each piece is foam wrapped and single carton wrapped with blanket wraps and strapped securely in a carpeted van avoiding any damage from movement or vibration.
Once pieces are placed on the van for delivery they are not off loaded until they reach your door. If you want to secure your furniture for a forthcoming house move or completion of decorating etc this is no problem this happens on a very regular basis, paying for goods will secure them for upto 3 months without storage charge.
You will be contacted to discuss delivery, if we are unable to speak with you directly we will leave a message and email as long as you have provided these contact details explaining when we are delivering. How ever we need confirmation that this delivery time is acceptable, if we do not recieve confirmation we will not load your delivery. We regularly deliver early morning before you leave for work as well as evening or weekend if we are unable to deliver due to your other commitments your delivery will be re-arranged for the next time we are in your area this does mean we start the clock running again.
It is your responsibility to ensure the items you order can be installed in your home so do please measure the entire access route to the room intended for your furniture. If items are not possible to install in your home you will be charged a collection fee not exceeding £70 should we agree to collection for which we are not committed to do so. Should we agree to collect you will be charged 30% of your order value to cover additional costs. Our delivery service is door to door we are not insured (as many are not) to go beyond your front door. It is at the drivers discretion as to whether he helps you locate your furniture in your home. For heavy and large items it will be your responsibility for a second person to help unload to keep costs down deliveries are single driver.
We give morning afternoon and evening delivery times if we can be more specific we will endeavour to do so but please bear in mind our runs can cover a 16-18hr day so traffic delays beyond our control may push your delivery time out. If this happens the driver will have your contact details and will call to let you know, if there is no answer we will leave a message.
Please note our delivery charges are included, should you wish to collect you are more than welcome to do so but we do not accept the liability of other couriers, should they be used you should ensure your alternative courier is experienced handling furniture / antiques utilising blanket wraps and straps and door to door delivery, cheap parcel couriers will damage our furniture. Costs to re-deliver will not exceed £70.00 England and Wales, £90 up to border drawn from Glasgow to Edinburgh please call for beyond and the isles. Deliveries to France Spain and other parts of Europe are available please do not expect free delivery to extend outside of UK mainland or north of Glasgow and Edinburgh border.
Deliveries are normally executed as complete orders and occasionally in several parts, in a case were the customer insists on part delivery for whatever reason additional costs incurred by the company will be charged to the customer without profit and will typically be £70.
We endeavour to be as accurate as possible with our delivery approximations, however delays can occur due to factors beyond our control and we will not accept claims, indemnification or cancellations of any current order in respect thereof. Please note – Our delivery vans are carpet lined with baton supports to secure all items under multiple furniture blankets with staff experienced in the transportation our furniture.
Your goods are fully insured until they reach the delivery destination whereby the insurance liability falls upon the recipient. All deliveries are to doorstep only insurance to go beyond would raise delivery costs. However, in certain circumstances we may bring the goods into the premises but will not be insured and are under no obligation to do so. Our deliveries are ran on a tight schedule to keep costs down please assist the driver by ensuring there is free access with sufficient space for goods delivered. Furniture Finish Disclaimer:
In the manufacture of the furniture natural timber and traditional treatments have been used throughout, to achieve an authentic appearance. Each item of furniture is unique in its appearance and therefore Heirloom Beds Ltd T/A Sarah Jane Furniture cannot accept responsibility for any cosmetic variations in the distressed paint and lacquer finishes. *
Each item is unique and handcrafted form start to finish, using “old world “traditional methods of construction. The individual workmanship may cause slight differences in measurements. Solid wood is also a factor: it consistently responds to its environment hairline cracks and movement of floating panels is normal and natural in solid wood furniture. If this poses a problem to you then you should consider MDF and engineered wood furniture widely available from department stores. Care should be taken to not to place pieces of furniture against a direct heat source this will damage it! Also be kept away from damp or de-humidified environments. Please be aware that all if any blemishes are non-structural in nature and part of the charm and character of a natural non engineered wood product i.e. knots, existing features from natural occurrences in the managed timber plantation.
Every effort is made to ensure that the Products we supply correspond as closely as possible to the samples shown on line,
but they may not be exactly the same. We regret that no responsibility can be accepted for any slight variations which all
add to the unique features of the Products including but not limited to the following:
